Every human is unique and many factors will dictate how we respond whilst in the fraud and after the fraud. This includes our journey to recovery. There are many things we can do to help us navigate this new pathway.
In these frauds, victims have all control in their lives taken from them by the abuser/criminal. We believe (from experience) that a victim’s healing journey is the time that they take back control. This means that they get to decide what is best for them, they know themselves best and what works for them as a unique human being. Here we offer many suggestions to cover those possibilities. If one doesn’t work for you, this isn’t failure, it’s an opportunity to try something else. Maybe a combination of a few different adventures. Victim’s don’t need rigid sessions with consequences for not attending or a set number of sessions which puts more pressure on them in a time of trauma, which may set them up to feel failure.
